Parent Support

Parenting can feel overwhelming at times, especially when your child is struggling with emotions, behaviour or confidence. Parent support sessions provide a space to talk openly about challenges, gain understanding and learn practical strategies that can make everyday situations feel easier.

These sessions are supportive, non-judgemental and tailored to your family’s needs. The aim is to help you feel more confident in responding to your child in a way that strengthens your relationship and supports their emotional wellbeing.

Understanding Your Child

Sometimes children’s behaviour can feel confusing or difficult to manage. Together, we explore what may be underlying your child’s emotions, behaviour or reactions, helping you better understand what your child may be communicating.

This may include understanding:

• anxiety and worries
• emotional outbursts or meltdowns
• withdrawal or shutting down
• ADHD traits such as impulsivity or frustration
• confidence or self-esteem difficulties
• challenges with change or transitions

Developing this understanding can help you respond in ways that feel calmer, clearer and more effective.

Practical Strategies That Work

Parent sessions focus on providing realistic, evidence-based strategies that can be used in everyday life. Support is tailored to your child’s needs and your parenting style, helping approaches feel natural and achievable.

Strategies may include support with:

• emotional regulation and managing big feelings
• responding to anxiety or avoidance
• supporting ADHD-related difficulties
• building confidence and independence
• managing boundaries and routines
• reducing conflict at home

The aim is not to provide rigid rules, but flexible tools that support positive change over time.

Feeling More Confident as a Parent

Many parents find it helpful to have a space where they feel supported and understood. Parenting a child who is struggling can sometimes feel isolating, particularly when you are trying your best but unsure what will help most.

Parent support sessions aim to help you feel:

• more confident in how to respond
• reassured that you are not alone
• clearer about next steps
• more supported in your parenting decisions
• better equipped to support your child’s wellbeing

Small changes can often make a meaningful difference in daily life.
