Child & Teen Therapy

Whether your child is anxious, withdrawn, struggling at school or just not quite themselves, therapy can make a real difference. My sessions are warm, child-led and tailored to where your child is right now, not a one size fits all approach.

I work with children and young people aged 5 to 18 across Cannock, Staffordshire and the West Midlands, online and in person.

Ages 5–10

Younger children often communicate through behaviour, play and emotions rather than words, and that is completely okay. At this age sessions are gentle, engaging and age-appropriate, giving children a safe and comfortable space to express themselves in a way that feels natural to them.

Parent involvement is a really important part of working with younger children. I will keep you closely involved so that whatever we work on together in sessions is understood and supported at home too, because that consistency makes a real difference.

I can help with:

  • Emotional regulation and managing big feelings

  • Anxiety and worry

  • Behaviour challenges

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Friendship difficulties

  • School related stress

Developing independence with supportive parent involvement

Children in this age group are developing greater independence but often still benefit from parent support alongside therapy.

Young people usually attend sessions individually, with opportunities for parent involvement where helpful. Additional parent sessions or check-ins can support consistency and progress between sessions.

I can help with:

  • Anxiety and overthinking

  • Emotional regulation

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Friendship and social challenges

  • School stress and pressure

  • Managing change and transitions

  • ADHD and attention difficulties

Independent support for teens

Teen therapy provides a confidential and supportive space where young people can talk openly about what they are experiencing. Sessions focus on helping teens feel heard, understood and empowered to develop coping strategies that support their wellbeing.

At this stage, parental involvement is usually minimal, although collaborative communication can be agreed where helpful.

I can help with:

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Low mood and depression

  • Stress and feeling overwhelmed

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Social pressure and identity

  • Emotional regulation

  • Adjustment to big life changes
